Lantern Path Kiental
Winter Hiking
· Reichenbach im Kandertal
The rear Kiental is simply wildly romantic to end a winter hike as soon as the sun goes down. When dusk falls, the time-honoured paraffin lamps are simply lit outdoors here. It is the time of the lantern trail. Walkers can explore the plain near Lake Tschingel and the snow-covered forests below the Blüemlisalpmassiv in a magical ambience.
Distance 1.5 km
From 15 December 2022 to 28 February 2023, the path is lit from Thursday to Saturday from 5.30 pm to 9 pm. The trail starts at the car park near the Hotel-Restaurant Alpenruh. The circular walk takes about 45 minutes and is no problem for older people with good shoes.
The route is also available to groups on request on other days of operation. Those who take the lantern trail need not worry about the frosty temperatures: at the latest, a spicy mulled wine or a creamy fondue in the "Alpenruh" restaurant will ensure cosy warmth at the end.
