The winter hiking trail from Sunnbüel to the Gemmi Pass is a classic. Let yourself be carried away by the endless white expanse and the impressive mountain panorama.

The cable car Sunnbüel takes you from Kandersteg to Sunnbüel where the hike begins. Take the historic path to the Gemmi Pass, which was an important transport link between the cantons of Bern and Valais a few hundred years ago. First a short descent to the plain "Spittelmatte", followed by the ascent to the mountain hotel Schwarenbach. The hike continues towards the Daubensee lake and finally to the destination, the Gemmi pass (2322 m a.s.l.) Here you will be rewarded with an impressive view of the Valais Alps. You can now hike back the same way or take the Gemmibahn down to Leukerbad to get to Kandersteg by bus or train.
