The Choleren Gorge will be closed for inspection on Monday, 2 May 2022.
An imposing water spectacle is offered by the Choleren gorge. The 100m long rock gorge is accessible via a system of walkways and steps, guaranteeing a safe visit.

At Choleren gorge you won't only find an impressive waterfall. You will also see numerous watermills and rocks polished by the water flow. An excursion to Choleren gorge can be comfortably combined with a visit to Pochtenkessels - a deep rocky funnel where the Engstligen and Otterebach waters meet.

Turn-by-turn directions
Take the bus or drive by car to the «Tregel» bus stop. A 15 minute walk up-stream brings you directly to the Gorge. After crossing the Gorge, you can either hike back to Adelboden (approx. 1 hour) and take the bus towards Frutigen or follow the footpath down towards Frutigen and visit the Trummer Wood-carving Workshop en route (closed on Sundays). Finally, you will reach the imposing Pochtenkessel – a rocky cal-dron where the Engstlige and Otterebach rivers converge. A short climb brings you back to your starting point
